It's official. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has headed for production, and will be on the greater Kimball, MN roads before we know it! And, there is no possible way A.M. Maus and Son could be more excited! To really put the icing on the cake of excitement, the automaker just announced that its 5,000,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee has come off of the production lines at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant.

And, we have many, many devoted people to thank for such feat. Scott Garberding, Vice President of Manufacturing for Chrysler and past Factory Manager of the Jefferson North Assembly Plant, discusses the persistence and strong work ethic that can be found in every Jeep production facility employee, noting "Twenty-one years ago, the first Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled off this assembly line and while it was questionable whether we would ever make it to this point, the people in this plant never lost their focus. Certainly many things have changed over the years, but one thing has remained constant - the dedication and commitment of this workforce."1

What  is Garberding referring to when he talks about the "questionable" time? Back when the entire automotive industry crashed and the "Big Three" American automakers ran into trouble as a result in the late 2000s the Jefferson North facility nearly was forced to close its doors. But, in 2009 after reintroducing the Grand Cherokee, the automaker rebounded, and the model has now received numerous awards and accolades than any other SUV.
