In the highly anticipated upcoming movie, Fast and Furious 6, somewhere between three hundred and four hundred cars are used…that's every auto enthusiasts dream! And, out of the hundreds of vehicles starring in the motion picture only 9 autos make it out of the movie with minimal damage. Out of those lucky nine, are our two beloved muscle cars in the new Dodge lineup.
Both highly acclaimed Dodge Challenger SRT and Charger SRT made it out unscathed after taking on several quite impressive stunts thanks to a couple modifications. As for the Challenger, the muscle car didn't need to have many modifications at all, because it was fairly new. However, locking differentials and a larger e-brake were installed to give the Challenger a little something extra. As for the Charger, this muscle car starred in a fairly action packed scene also starring an airplane, so a winch was mounted to the Charger's rear.
What's most fascinating to the entire team here at A.M. Maus and Son is that the person in charge of tracking down and modifying the cars used in Fast and Furious 6, Dennis McCarthy, isn't concerned about finding rare and expensive autos. Rather, McCarthy is searching for unique vehicles that require a substantial amount of work, and in a few instances, cannot be fully restored. He is looking for such autos because he modifies them so significantly, coats them with some snazzy exterior enrichment, and let's them prepare for action.
