Pope Francis is going to make his first ever trip to the United states next month, and he’s going to be riding around Washington D.C., New York, and Philadelphia in a decked out 2015 Jeep Wrangler which will make up the base of his popemobile.

While the exact specifications of the Jeep he’s using aren’t known yet, we can expect that it will be similar to the Wrangler that the Pope rode around in and waved from during his trip to Ecuador in South America this past July. The four-door Jeep Wrangler that was used during Pope Francis’ South American tour featured a white exterior pure as the driven snow, flags on the front, the Papal emblem on the front doors, and a glass front and roof. The Jeep Wrangler proves to be a perfect companion for the pontiff as he had previously said that he isn’t a huge fan of a fully enclosed popemobile. Whatever the case, there’s nothing like a true American vehicle to drive the pope around in style when he lands stateside later this September.

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler comes in plenty of configurations and while we don’t know which ones make up the popemobile, for obvious safety reasons, here at A. M. Maus and Son, we’re sure that you can still find the right one for you.

The 2015 Wrangler continues to build upon the famous convertible SUV which is offered in both two- and four-doors. Available trims include the Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon as the main trims with sub-trims including the Altitude, X, Freedom Edition, Willys Wheeler, and the Rubicon Hard Rock.

The base engine for the Jeep Wrangler comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque with four-wheel drive. So even if you’re not the pope, you can travel like one.
