Whenever you have a brand extension there’s always a chance that you overextend and come up with something that just doesn’t fit in with the overall brand image. Luckily, this isn’t the case with the 2015 Jeep® Renegade.

When you look at the 2015 Renegade you’ll quickly notice the iconic Jeep branding on the exterior, but it does take a bit of a turn and puts on elements of other compact SUVs that seem to love to employ outlandish shapes and a more bubbly motif. At first glance, the Renegade looks like a bubblier, peppier, bigger version of the Jeep Wrangler with its protruding taillights and trademark grille.

The interior design is something that Jeep calls “Tek-Tonic”, which is a fun play on words for Jeep and their off-road lovers. What it means is that Jeep has managed to create a nice blend of soft and rugged forms and trims with matte silver tying the whole look together. Interior colors also come in black, brown, gray, red, and copper. A low beltline and high roof also afford plenty of visibility, perfect for seeing everything in any weather condition, which will come in handy during Minnesota winters. For these hot summers, there is a “My Sky” option which are removable roof panels over the front and rear seats. Jeep also says that the “My Sky” feature harkens back to the open air freedom from back in 1941 with the Willys MB Jeep.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade is built on a small 4x4 platform which gives it a nice neutral balance and a good weight that makes driving it a joy. The base engine is a 1.4-liter turbocharged MultiAir V4 that makes 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a manual transmission.

Overall, the Jeep Renegade is a welcome addition to the Jeep family and provides another option for Jeep lovers to explore. Head down to our A. M. Maus and Son dealership today to check out the 2015 Jeep Renegade and other options in our showroom.
