You’ve got no shortage of trucks in America to choose from. And in Minnesota, a truck can be the difference between sitting in a snowbank for hours or sitting on the couch comfortably after a long day with a hot cup of coco.

And with plenty of fantastic options out there on the market, like the ever favorite 2015 RAM 1500, you might find yourself set. Afterall, both are great options that offer fantastic power and modern luxury. And with a base 3.0-liter V6 engine with 420 pound-feet of torque in the diesel, and a base 3.6-liter V6 engine that outputs 305 horsepower on the regular 1500, who can complain?

But it appears that in 2018 choosing your truck might just get a little bit harder. It appears that we could be seeing a new contender in the form of a Jeep® Wrangler pickup truck. Back in 2005 Jeep automakers developed a concept that went by the name of the Gladiator, a Jeep Wrangler pickup that was actually built on a RAM 1500 frame but sported Wrangler styling.

Recently, at the annual owners’ gathering in Moab, Utah, viewers got to look at seven Jeep Wrangler pickup prototypes. One which is called the Red Rock Responder looks like something you might drive around in a futuristic war video game.

And while a single concept isn’t finalized, several prototypes look at the very least, interesting. Some even resemble a bit of Americana with their heritage styling. By adapting the iconic and much-loved Jeep Wrangler into a pickup, Jeep lovers would have another option in the new Jeep lineup when it comes to getting everything they need out of a Jeep, and a Wrangler pickup seems promising in its ability to compete in the pickup market.
