2016 has already proved to be quite the year for Jeep® vehicles like the 2016 Jeep Wrangler, the 2016 Jeep Cherokee, and the unique crossover, the 2016 Jeep Renegade. But more than just being a solid go-to option all year round, and especially when Minnesota experiences actual winter conditions, the brand is celebrating a pretty big anniversary.

This year marks the 75th year that Jeep 4x4s and SUVs have been around to take us to amazing locations, get us out of tough situations, and simply experience the wonders of life. Recently, the Jeep SUV was featured in two enticing ads during the Super Bowl. The first was a unique and emotional series of black and white photos that showed the faces of people whose lives had crossed paths with a Jeep in one way or another. The second was an exhilarating ride that showed us why owning one can be the best thing. It depicted adventures, friends, and that satisfaction of discovering something new.

Here at A. M. Maus and Son, we aim to provide all Kimball, MN area drivers with plenty of options when it comes finding that next vehicle. From plenty of new inventory to tons of certified pre-owned vehicles, our goal is to give you an adventure you’ll never forget. In a good way.

So we thought, in honor of the 75th year of one of our favorites being on the road, we’d look back to see where the adventure of a Jeep automobile started. The original “General Purpose” (GP) light reconnaissance vehicle was designed and built for the U.S. Army in 1940. The famous MB model would enter production in 1941. As the tale goes, the term “General Purpose” was often shortened and slurred, the resulting sound was “Jeep”. After many soldiers came back from the war, they felt a certain lacking in the mobility, feel, and performance of their civilian automobile. In 1945, the first civilian models were produced.

Over the course of 75 years, we’ve seen this vestige of Americana grow and thrive. From the original to the 75th Anniversary Jeep models today. If you’re looking that next perfect vehicle, join the adventure and make some history in a new Jeep automobile from A. M. Maus and Son.
