One of the biggest updates to the upcoming 2017 Dodge Challenger is the reintroduction of the Dodge Challenger T/A model lineup. The T/A name is derived from the iconic Dodge Challenger model used by the automaker to compete in the SCCA’s Trans-Am racing series back in the 1970’s.
Three variants make up the new 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A options list. Each version is outfitted with a new hood and large center-mounted scoop. The look and function are drawn from the 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat model that has a ram-air design, allowing airflow to move through the headlamp and engine intake and through a conical Mopar air filter. Two of the models are powered by a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that puts out 375 horsepower while the top of the line Dodge Challenger T/A 392 has a 6.4-liter V-8 that produces 485 horsepower.
