When a single vehicle brand is around for long enough, it has to take a moment from time to time to think back on its long history and full life. Like anyone who reaches a milestone in life, car brands often look back at the highlights and take stock of what they’ve accomplished. For Jeep® automakers, this is that year. The classic American brand of SUVs is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and with it have come a lot of great things for Jeep SUVs.
Here at A. M. Maus and Son, we’ve been proud to celebrate the Summer of Jeep during their 75th year by offering our Kimball, MN area drivers with great deals on Jeep models like the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee or the new 2017 Jeep Cherokee. While it’s been fun to look back at where one of our favorite brands started, now it’s time for Jeep automakers to look to the future.
As Jeep vehicles enter the next chapter in their long and adventurous life, several interesting changes appear to be on the horizon. Later this year, the automaker is expected to reveal a new Jeep model that will replace both the 2016 Jeep Patriot and 2016 Jeep Compass. Both models are the closest to one another within the Jeep family, so it makes sense to combine the best features of these two SUVs into one vehicle. We expect that the new vehicle, which will retain one of the current names, will debut in the U.S. at the 2016 Auto Show at Los Angeles as a new 2018 model.
Meanwhile, the next model year of the highly popular 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to get a cosmetic upgrade on two of the higher trim levels: the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit and SRT. Some of these changes are expected to improve on the two-row, five seat unibody frame. Also new for 2017 will be the Trailhawk variant that comes with the off-road package. With six total trim levels, a standard V6 engine, and an automatic eight-speed transmission, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a perfect companion when the weather turns from warm and sunny to snowy and cold.
