1500 × 1000When it comes to the Jeep® brand, there’s truly something for everyone. The automaker has always inspired a dedicated set of loyalists who swear by their SUVs, and the same is true for the new 2022 Jeep Compass, available soon at A M Maus & Son.

This compact crossover fits nicely in the Jeep lineup, slightly larger than the compact Renegade SUV, but a bit smaller than the Jeep Cherokee. The 2022 model year saw a solid refresh, with a new design, new trims, and even more enjoyable features throughout.

Jeep® Compass Trim Levels

The 2022 Jeep Compass is offered in no less than six trim levels, from the base-level Sport trim to the decked-out High Altitude model. Here is a breakdown of the trim levels:

·        Sport

·        Latitude

·        Latitude Lux

·        Limited

·        Trailhawk

·        High Altitude

New for 2022

The most noticeable difference for the new model year is the redesigned front end of the Jeep Compass, which has been modernized with a more upscale appearance. A new layout graces the dashboard, along with an updated infotainment system that acts like a touchscreen tablet. The Latitude Lux trim is also new for 2022, with standard all-wheel drive, leather interiors, and more.

Engine and Powertrain Details

Every Jeep Compass is powered by a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 177 horsepower and 172 lbs-ft of torque. Standard front-wheel drive models pair with a six-speed automatic transmission, with the option to upgrade to a nine-speed automatic if desired.

Those who choose to spring for all-wheel drive will find their SUV equipped with several drive modes to conquer any terrain. While the automatic setting lets the car create torque as needed, the extra Snow, Mud, and Sand modes are geared specifically for each driving condition to maximize performance. The off-road-ready Trailhawk model adds a Rock mode as well.
