It’s no secret that RAM trucks have long been associated with tough, rugged capability — and for good reason. These pickups can excel in any situation, from the jobsite to off-road trails and mud pits.
Fortunately, A M Maus & Sons has a wide variety of RAM trucks at our dealership in Kimball, MN for you to choose from. But which trucks specifically are the best for off-road adventures? Here’s a breakdown of our favorite models for anything but pavement.
RAM 2500 Power Wagon
RAM’s signature off-road model is the 2500 Power Wagon, a lifted and heavily fortified build that leads the pack when it comes to heavy-duty pickups that are built for off-roading. These trucks have specific features that can’t be found on any other RAM 2500 truck, making them the perfect choice for rugged adventures.
The 33-inch tall DuraTrac® tires give around two inches of extra ground clearance on this model, adding up to over 14 inches total. It’s said to be able to handle up to 30 inches of water, climb hills, and articulate its wheels with ease. Electronic locking differentials allow the pickup to tackle nearly any terrain, allowing it to crawl steep grades without issue.
RAM 1500 Rebel
The RAM 1500 may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you’re thinking of off-road trucks, but with a few simple upgrades the Rebel trim is quite well-equipped for the great outdoors. Available four-wheel drive and the Hemi® V-8 engine that makes 395 horsepower will make this truck capable of tackling rough terrain, as well as the available air suspension with specific ride heights you can select. An optional 33-gallon fuel tank can be upgraded from the standard 26-gallon version, allowing you to stay out on the trails longer safely.
