Not all towing jobs are created equal. Pulling a bass boat to the lake is a different conversation than hauling a loaded gooseneck across the county. That’s why the 2026 lineup at A. M. Maus and Son gives you three levels of RAM towing capability, each one built for a specific kind of work.
RAM 1500: Up to 11,610 lbs
The RAM 1500 is more capable than a lot of people give it credit for. With the 3.0L Hurricane™ twin-turbo six under the hood, it'll pull up to 11,610 lbs. The 5.7L HEMI® V8 gets you to 11,320 lbs. That covers campers, utility trailers, and side-by-sides, which are the things people are actually towing on a regular basis. The payload reaches 2,360 lbs in Tradesman and Express trims, so there's plenty of room for gear in the bed too.
RAM 2500: Up to 20,000 lbs
This is where things get heavy. The 6.7L High-Output Cummins® Turbo Diesel cranks out 1,075 lb-ft of torque and tows up to 20,000 lbs. Flatbeds, farm equipment, big fifth-wheels — the 2500 handles all of it. Prefer gas? The 6.4L HEMI® still pulls 17,750 lbs and delivers a 4,580 lbs max payload for when the bed is doing the heavy lifting.
RAM 3500: Up to 36,610 lbs
The 3500 with the High-Output Cummins® and dually setup is the one you call when nothing else will cut it with 36,610 lbs of max towing. That's commercial-grade territory — multi-car haulers, large equipment trailers, massive fifth-wheels. Go with the HEMI® V8 and you're still pulling 18,150 lbs with a best-in-lineup payload of 7,590 lbs.
