Should you look for a Jeep® Grand Cherokee for sale or perhaps a Toyota Highlander? Let’s see how they compare in a few areas that may be important to you.
Power
The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 295 horsepower and 260 lbs.-ft. of torque. There are three other engines to choose from as well:
· 5.7-liter V8: 360 horsepower and 390 lbs.-ft. of torque
· 6.4-liter V8: 475 horsepower and 470 lbs.-ft. of torque
· 6.2-liter supercharged V8: 707 horsepower and 645 lbs.-ft. of torque
All engines are paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. The Toyota Highlander only has one engine choice, a 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 295 horsepower.
Off-Road Ability
The Toyota Highlander is only meant for paved roads. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, however, can go almost anywhere. It’s built for rugged terrain, as it has an excellent traction control system. And if you choose the Trailhawk trim, in addition to four-wheel drive, you will get a two-speed transfer case, the Quadra-Lift air suspension system, multiple skid plates, and all-terrain tires.
Tech
You’ll love all the tech features that come with every Jeep Grand Cherokee. These include Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, and two USB ports. You will also get a user-friendly infotainment system that is very easy to operate when you’re driving. The Toyota Highlander has some of the same tech components, but some critics have noted that the infotainment system can be a little cumbersome to use.
While the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the superior SUV in these three categories, you still need to take it for a test drive, and you can do that at A M Maus & Son, Inc. near Laramie.
